Blogging is not easy. I actually believe it is one of the hardest jobs one can have. It gets even harder in my neck of the woods, but I continue pushing. Why? Because I am passionate about putting information out here that will help others change their lives. Read more »
Five Dimensions for the Growth of Your Blog (Part 5)
All week I’ve been discussing the five dimensions of growth your blog should reflect. We started with growing warmer, then talked about growing deeper, moved on to growing stronger, and yesterday covered growing broader. I want to close the series by sharing the aspect of growth we focus on most of all – how to grow larger.
67 Ways to Get Your Content Into the Cloud
I’ve been doing a series of videos about how to get your content into the cloud, meaning, how to take what you’re publishing on your blog and get it into the cloud of content consumption in which web users live and breathe each day
Rather than trying to create a video for each method, or even a single blog post, I thought I’d put together a lengthy list of a variety of ways. I wanted to do this partly to demonstrate the sheer magnitude of options, but also to give you a list from which you could select one, two, or even ten “doable” tasks to apply today.
- Write great content. (It all starts here.)
- Tell your friends and family… face-to-face.
- Email your friends and family to introduce your blog (but don’t spam strangers).
- Include a link to your blog in your email signature.
100 Bloggers Only – Promote Your Best Posts Here
I’ll be brief. I’ve created a Google group. The purpose is simple – ask other bloggers to promote your posts that you feel are worthy of the world’s attention. There are several important catches though that will hopefully make it worth while…
- I’m going to close new memberships after 100 bloggers have joined so it never becomes overwhelming.
- I’m allowing anyone to apply since I want participation to be voluntary, but I’m only going to approve people who are unselfish, will give a moment now and then to promote another blogger, and who produce useful and valuable content.
- Members can invite other members, but it still stops at 100.
Participating is as simple as sending a single email and reading one email per day.
If you don’t get in, I’d recommend you start your own group and limit it to 100 also, for all the same reasons.
Ready? Here’s the link: Worthy of Attention Google group.
After the group fills up, this message will self-destruct.
Why Not Blog Unselfishly?
Let me be blunt – five minutes spent on some blogs makes me feel… dirty! No, I’m not talking about blogs with questionable material, but rather blogs that are built on greed. It’s one of my pet peeves, and it’s one of the reasons blogging is getting a bad name – greedy bloggers marketing to other greedy people.

Do Not Be Annoying When Promoting Your Blog
Think of all the ways there are to promote your blog.
You have Twitter, Facebook, Friendfeed, Digg, and any other social media site. Then you have blogging networks like Blogged, Blog Engage, and Blog Catalog. Finally, there are the powers of word-of-mouth and then through any comment made on any other blog.
All of these are sure ways to make your blog known and promoting it even further. But, do not be annoying when promoting your blog throughout these different methods.
We Blog Better is Opening to Guest Posts
Of all the blogs I’ve ever launched (and it’s probably a few too many), We Blog Better has been one of the most successful in terms of traffic, exposure, influence, and community interaction. I’m having a ball! One of the ways I’m enjoying it the most is finding ways to help and support other bloggers.
I often promote the work of others and a quick look at my Twitter timeline will show you just how much I point people to great resources on other blogs.
I’d like to help bloggers in another way, and this one is mutually beneficial. I want to open the doors to guest posts. I’ve posted as a guest at other blogs, and have a few lined up for the future already. It allows me to share my heart with another audience, connect with another blogger, and gain a little more exposure.
You’ll get a nice featured bio paragraph (like the one on every post that I write) with several links and a picture, assuming you attach it.
If you’re a freelance writer looking for paid work, I’m afraid this isn’t really that kind of an opportunity. Rather this is one of those opportunities for me to feature your good content here. Interested? Read this and fill out the form.
