Everyday I fight against millions of potentially distracting pieces of information. My time is precious – I’m juggling entirely too many things to give in to procrastination – yet some days I loose the battle.

I encountered a similar question in Tim Ferriss’s book, The Four Hour Work Week.  It’s funny because just the day before I encountered this section of the book, my hubby and I were talking about what it would take to move from Ohio to Virginia. I love blogging and I love writing, but I must tell you, sitting all day is driving me nuts and making me fat. I know, the extra M&Ms don’t help, but when I was teaching, I was up and moving around all day. I had time to hit the gym for lunch and I still had energy left when the day was done.

Now, I feel like an old rag-doll that’s been thrown in the street and run over by a Mac Truck and 5 school buses. At first, I thought I was getting sick, but now I’m certain its because of all this sitting. Read more »

I love books and have a personal library of hundreds of volumes. I’ve also started using the Amazon Wishlist feature to sort of bookmark resources I’d like to have. A few of the following are not on my list because I already have them. Others, I haven’t read but would like to own. The first eight are books on Amazon, the last three are ebooks I’ve read and have appreciated.

Mediocre makes money. You’ll get paid if you do mediocre stuff in life. Do your job, punch the clock, collect the check. In the world of blogging… get a decent domain, throw up a Wordpress site, aggregate some good content, integrate adsense, make some Christmas spending money. Do it one hundred times, all mediocre of course, and you’ll multiply the income possibilities of your mediocrity.
