The canonical version of any URL is the single most authoritative version indexed by major search engines.  Search engines typically use PageRank or a similar measure to determine which version of a URL is the canonical URL. Webmasters should use consistent linking structures throughout their sites to ensure that they funnel the maximum amount of PageRank at the URLs they want indexed.

Who doesn’t want to have a million inbound links to their blog? After all, you’ve put hard work into your content! You’re ready to see some action now. We know that the more high-quality links we get, the better our blogs get ranked in search engine results. And we also know that this leads to an increase in Google page ranking – eventually.

I’ve created a list below of 10 great dofollow resources that are suitable for bloggers. All carry high page rank and get a lot of traffic, so not only will your links get counted and credited quickly, but you are likely to get some new visitors from them as well.

As with all link building strategies and efforts, there’s no way to sugar coat it so I’ll just suggest it plainly: do not litter. :) The sites don’t exist for you to walk by and drop your link just to take up space.
