So who runs this blog anyway?
I’m Kiesha Easley and I run this awesome blog. However, I’ve opened this blog up to the WBB Team – a group of regular bloggers who share their expertise weekly and/or bi-weekly AND also some insightful guest bloggers – so you’re going to see lots of different faces and get lots of different perspectives on blogging.
But why should you listen to me?
I’ve been blogging for 4 years now, in this relatively short span of time, I’ve learned a great deal about what works and what doesn’t. I have been fortunate to discover the impact of networking and building community early on and found that even in the Christian Inspiration niche (where I first started blogging) – there are proven strategies that work. I figured out how to get people to my blog and how to get them talking.
I started out by commenting on other blogs and eventually started guest posting which proved to have the greatest impact on my blogging career – in fact, it was a guest post that I wrote for FuelYourBlogging that got me here! You’ll have to read Introducing Kiesha to get the full story on that one. :)
I’m here to share what I’ve learned – everything I write is based on my experience both good and bad. However, no matter how much knowledge I share, if you don’t put any of it into action, it won’t mean a thing. I encourage you to take action today! Start by subscribing to the newsletter if you haven’t already.
There’s so much to tell you, but in an attempt to keep from boring you until you want to gouge your eyes out, I’ll make this as brief as I can.
I’m Mass Communications Instructor at Benedict College, where I teach Writing for Mass Media, Feature Writing and also advise the student newspaper. When I’m not teaching, I’m a freelance writer, editor and blogging consultant. I do blog set-ups and consulting for small business owners who want help developing a web presence, I also ghostwrite both online and off.
I’ve taught English Composition and Literature at both secondary and college levels.
I received both my Bachelors and Masters in English from the University of Toledo. While there, I was blessed enough to receive the Helen M. Fields Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in the Field of English in 2007. My undergrad concentration was Creative Writing. I wrote Be a Blessing, a Christian inspiration book that you can find on Amazon.com.
In the past, at the church back home, I was an editor of the church newsletter and a part of the Mime Ministry (yes, white paint and robes), I know people find this creepy, but I actually love it! Now, I’m a part of the bookstore and children’s ministry.
I love traveling with my family. We’ve traveled all around the eastern US: Chicago (my fav), Detroit, Cleveland, Virginia Beach (another fav), Myrtle Beach, Daytona Beach, Orlando, Mississippi and wherever else in between. I eventually want to make it out west and see places such as LA, Vegas, and Phoenix. I’d like to go on a few mission trips to places like South Africa and Jamaica, maybe even Haiti. One day I’d like to tour in England, France, Mexico and China just because.
I love arts and crafts: sewing, painting, jewelry making, photography and scrap-booking.
I collect Barbies, Brats dolls and I love doll house miniatures.
Although this is the last bit of info I’m offering about myself, it’s actually the most important and what I’m most proud of:
I’ve been married for 20 years with three children.
Anyway, that is me. If you’re still reading I guess that means you still have both of your eyes and have chosen not to gouge them out in boredom. :) Thanks!
Brandon is the former owner of this blog. He no longer writes regularly for this site, but he’s done so much that it must not be forgotten. He designed and built a solid foundation for this blog, without his kindness and complete selflessness, I wouldn’t be here. So I will continue to honor what he’s done.
I encourage you to read his bio below and be sure to check out all of these amazing things he’s doing.
I’m Brandon Cox, a Pastor, logo, identity, and web designer, and I also blog at Life Here and There, Fuel Your Blogging, and CreativeCox. I’m married to Angie and we have a daughter, another child on the way, and a little dog named Beau.
The title of this blog is a play on words. It can be “we blog better” or how to “weblog better.” The goal is simple. I want to write articles to help us all blog a little better. My own favorite subject is effectiveness in communicating via the written word, but I’ll also touch on design, coding, monetization, traffic, seo, and a whole lot of other things.
I’m open to guest posts if you’re open to writing one, and I enjoy the blogging community as a whole, so I’m happy to help promote good blogs anyway I can. Thanks for dropping by!
