Everyone is fighting over the same niche, using the same marketing strategies and learning from the same people. It is becoming hard to get an edge in internet marketing these days.
I believe this is a new era where Authority matters the most and that means you need to change your mindset. You’ll need to have the “Never Give Up” attitude and have the drive and passion to make this work. Yet don’t compare this to hard labour, you need to be pesistent, patient and set some goals.
I’m sure you have heard the term authority thrown around a lot online. To make it in the new era of internet marketing you’ll need to build an authority blog or website.
These are websites that have tons of high quality content or solve a specific problem and have a strong brand recognition. Examples of authority sites are Google, Facebook, Amazon, Opera etc. I understand that not everyone has a bunch of investors lining up to fund their business.
How to build a site from scratch to gain authority
First of all avoid creating micro-niche sites, these might work in some cases but it won’t last for a long time. The best thing about authority sites is that they are evergreen businesses. So stop being all over the place and put focus on one site until it makes you at least $1000 a month then you can move on to other stuff.
You need a steady flow of content
To get started you’ll need to create at least 25 to 30 posts a month on your blog. The content needs to be original, compelling and worth sharing. The site needs to have a professional feel, videos and a lot of images not dry content. This is not rocket science, it’s just a little hard work.
Research the market
Do you know where a lot of people fail? In internet marketing 101: market research. You might have the best design, lots of content and a big budget but if you don’t know what to sell and to whom then it’s going to be hard to reach your goal.
A lot of people rush to build websites without doing proper keyword research. Spend some time doing research, this will make the whole process of building the site and coming up with content very easy. Don’t sell a product, sell a solution, experiences and emotions.
Behind every sale there’s a reason and the reason is often based on passion, emotion, want or desire. The product is never the reason, it’s what the product does that matters. Just make sure that the site you’re building solves a solution.
The next thing is your domain name. It doesn’t matter if you use your keyword as the domain name or your real name. Forget about keyword density and focus on keyword relevancy instead. This is the new Google language. That means it doesn’t matter how many times you have the exact keyword in a post or page. Just make your posts human friendly as possible.
The more content you have on your site, the more Google will index your pages to make it easier for people to find your content and share it. I would advise you to 1st write 10 to 15 quality articles in advance, before posting anything on the site. Schedule the content to be posted on the site daily while writing more content. The key is to be consistence so always be ahead.
Do something different
The biggest mistake a lot of people make is to write rehashed content. People go to Google, read the top 10 posts and write an article and say they did research. This is why I always buy new courses and products so that I can find ninja tricks to blog about and be different from the rest.
Some of my content doesn’t even rank on Google but it gets a lot of traffic just by going viral with social and bokkmarking shares. Just make sure your content is different and nothing that someone can find with a simple Google search.
SEO is a very complex subject so I’ll just skip it in this post. I will write a detailed SEO Tutorial in the near future. Just make sure your on-page seo is really good. When it comes to backlinking, here’s a tip: If the backlink strategy is easy for everyone to do then know that it is no longer effective in Google. If it’s hard to get, like a PR5 backlink for instance, then that’s a backlink strategy you need to focus on. Before you create that backlink, ask yourself, how many people are using this same strategy.
Now let’s move on to monetization. I would advise you to get traffic 1st then monetize later. Focus on providing value first then the money part later. Yes we’re all in it for money
Look at sites such as Google, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube… They 1st offered a solution and got tons of traffic then monetized later. Yes you might loose a few visitors once they start seeing the Ads. But how many people hate Facebook Ads? How many people will wait 20 seconds for an Ad to end so they can watch a video on Youtube?
See? No matter how much they hate the Ads they will still visit and use the site. We all hate Ads on TV but we keep watching TV so we can watch our favorite shows. So for a sec stop focusing on the money part and focus on making the site go viral and monetize later.
The main aim of this post is not to show you a new ninja trick about how to make money online. The aim is to make sure you change your mindset to stop focusing on making a quick buck and build a real business that will attract investors and big advertisers.
I’m really sorry that this is too long I did try to keep it short but once I start writing I just keep going. I really hope you found this stuff helpful and stop focusing on making money fast because it wont last. I know we all have bills to pay and a family to support but have a solid plan for your online business, don’t follow the hype. Become an authority and focus on a long term business.
There I go again, I told you I can’t stop hehe
I’ll just stop here. Good Luck Guys & Girls.
