It is a known fact that one of the most effective strategies in SEO is the use of synonyms. However, the process of replacing a word with the most suitable synonyms is not a simple task. To perform well here, one can make use of Google to locate synonyms for the words of his interest.

An authentic website is one that contains top notch content. A few examples of these are Yahoo directory and CNN. Backlinks from the sites with domains .edu and .gov also prove to be an added advantage. Even one link from any of the above mentioned sites can work wonders for the website and make it perform extremely well in search engine optimization.
However, a person needs to understand that the backlinks can produce great results for him, only when they are made to seem very natural to the search engines. The best method that has been successful for most sites in this regard is creating an organic look by making the links a part of the anchor text in the site.
3. Figure out how search reaction signals work
This might be a relatively new concept that is not known to many wherein the search engines examine the content of the website based on the emotion stirring capacity of it and the feel that it generates in the minds of the reader.
The stress here is on the capacity of the content used in the site to connect with the people and make them interested in going about the sharing of the information of various social platforms like Google+ and Facebook. That’s a great tip about the synonyms, something I really hadn’t considered being a newbie to the blogging and SEO game. Things have changed alot in the last year (from what I’ve read) and its good to know I started at a time when people have managed to find some ways around penguin and panda or have evolved better SEO strategies.

I think it’s unlikely you’ll naturally get authority backlinks (especially from .EDU sites) unless you have really, really awesome content, but I do agree that they help a lot when it comes to ranking your website. Most people are just spamming these sites these days with spun content, so just because you do get a backlink from .edu domain it doesn’t mean it’s very helpful, so it’s often better to spend your time writing helpful and good content that building these crappy links manually.

I just wonder how likely or if it’s possible for the average person to get a backlink from sites like CNN and such. SEO has been tough lately with Google making all the changes recently. Makes me wonder what they have in mind next. Probably a good idea to stay informed about their changes too. It’s a bit more confusing than it was a few years back.

Getting back links from authentic websites requires unique and highly informative content posted regularly on our blog. And it’s certainly not easy to get back links from a .edu or .gov website. About your first point, the synonyms incorporated in our content should not be too elite that internet users might never have come across such a word.
Totally agree with you on the impact a single backlink from a .gov website can have on our site. The impact in this case though is equivalent to the difficulty of the process. And I’d heard somewhere that Google values the social media presence of a website more than the backlinks. Thanks for the share.

Great insights! Tip #1 is totally underrated – if you look at some SERPs there are sites ranking very high for certain keywords althoug they don’t have these keywords on their homepage (but synonyms instead).
On the side: You talk about on-page optimization as “one of the most effective techniques to rank sites higher” in search engines, but #2 has nothing to do with it…
Speaking of #3 – It’s probably about Google+ and Twitter retweets? I thought Google had no access to facebook data?
p.s. to come back to #2: often you simply can’t use the keywords you want your site to rank for in the anchor text (for example in comments) – so how you expect your site to rank higher afterwards for special keywords?
