READABILITY is what you’ve been waiting for!

Are you like me…chained to the computer, reading the latest & greatest blogs or trending news feeds?

Do you find yourself bookmarking blogs and/or articles with the best of intentions to read them later, only to discover them buried in your lengthy bookmark list months later? I thought so!

I wanted a better way to tackle daily reading tasks…a simpler way to keep tabs on what I really needed to read and a way to break free from the constraints of my computer…an easier method, enabling my reading list to travel with me – via Kindle, iPhone, iPad or Android device. Imagine the possibilities! And, I haven’t even begun to address how to integrate all these fabulous benefits into your web site, blog or share via numerous social media platforms!

Have I aroused your interest? Are you on the edge of your seat, anxious to learn about this FANTASTIC and FREE tool? If so, mission accomplished!

READABILITY is a free add-on available for download via Firefox. It transforms any web page, including blogs, into easy to read pages, free from distracting clutter – allowing you to focus on what’s importantthe content!

Once you download the add-on & create your account, you can customize how pages are viewed…from background color, font color & size as well as enabling you to read now…read later or instantly send to your Kindle or other portable device. How incredibly freeing is that? Articles and blogs are archived.

Plus, you can email them to your unique READABILITY account as well.

Now for the really exciting part…READABILITY enables you to share the “clean versions” of articles/blogs via numerous social media platforms (twitter, facebook, etc.) with a simple click! Can you stand a bit more exciting news? Ok…you asked for it!

READABILITY buttons can be added to your web site and/or blog too!

Imagine accompanying your audience to the gym, to the park or to their child’s soccer practice. How fantastic is that? Now, YOU are “on the go” — right alongside your followers, fans, clients, colleagues & customers!

Here’s a small sampling of the add-ons & apps available:

  • Reeder for iOS & Mac “…Google Reader client w/full access to your READABILITY articles.”
  • Pulse “…transforms your favorite websites into a colorful, interactive mosaic and syncs with your   READABILITY reading list.”
  • Flipboard “…lets you see what matters, from news around the world to videos friends are sharing.”
  • Web Mobile “…enjoy the full READABILITY experience with our rich web app for mobile.”
  • Twitter Apps “Send articles to READABILITY or turn on the reading view with these popular Twitter clients:  Tweetbot, Echofon, Twitterrific, Ubersocial, Tweetlogix and Rowi.”

  9. I’ve actually been using the Readability tool in Word for some time now, Lynn, and it’s been great! I’m still somewhere in the mid-8.0s for most of my blog posts, but I’m guessing it’s because of the foreign words names that I use in my blog posts. Still, it’s a great tool to have and I would personally recommend every blogger to use it.

I was looking for some kind of idea like this. I used to read many articles and news daily. But I’m very poor in managing the time to read those things. I’m sure readability will help me to handle the reading. Thanks for the post Lynn. Looking for more ideas from you.

Katy Lawrence recently posted..What is Android VoIP?My Profile

    • Hi Katy! It is, isn’t it? In the past, I had the same issues…bookmarking blogs/articles with the best of intentions…promising myself that I would take time later in the day (or “tomorrow”) to go back & read. Invariably, life moves on at its hectic pace & it might be months before I “rediscover” the blogs/articles in my bookmark list. Ahhhhh…best intentions, right? Readability not only helps keep us up-to-date with our reading tasks, but it also enables those who follow our blogs to “spread the word” with a simple click! All this and it’s free! Thanks for stopping by & sharing your thoughts. Hope you have a great week!
