Yes, I tell you, it is possible!
If I hadn’t watched it with my own eyes I wouldn’t believe it, either.
During last year’s Surviving the Blog contest, I watched the contestants take a blog from set up to 96,121 in 10 weeks all as a result of successfully completing the various challenges they were charged with throughout the contest.
Their results were astonishing, but if they could do it, anyone could.
For most bloggers, the difference between success and failure is not ability – it’s whether or not they take the right actions.
Some bloggers just don’t know what to do. Some suffer from information overload – they’ve been flooded with too many options and don’t know which will bring the results they want. They are blogging aimlessly without a game plan and are wasting time on tactics that don’t match up with what they’re trying to accomplish.
I wish I’d had a game plan to follow when I first started blogging. It would’ve eliminated all of the trial and error, and would’ve kept me from running around in so many circles as I’d done during the many sixteen hour days I spent in front of the computer. I would’ve known which tasks were worthy of my time and which ones I could’ve ignored.
That’s the goal of my new book, 10-Week Gameplan for a Top 100k Blog: to take the guess work out of blogging and to point bloggers in the right direction to strategies that work.
Are you a new or struggling blogger?
This book was created with you in mind! This book will teach you how to prioritize your time and focus on what’s most important. You can stop clicking from site to site; from program to program and begin to focus on the tasks that will help you accomplish your goals.
Obviously, achieving a Top 100k ranking is not the end of a blogger’s journey – but, the work that it takes to get there will build a solid foundation for any blog. The 10-Week Gameplan can get you there; where you go after that point is totally up to you.
For the next couple of weeks, I’m offering a Pre-Launch special. Get this book for only $14.00 until July 18, 2012. Get your hands on a copy at this special price while it lasts.
The official launch date is scheduled for August 1, 2012. The book will be available in ebook or hard-copy format. ($18.00)

Interesting that it is possible to get in the top 100K in 10 weeks, Kiesha. Alexa ranks my site at about 170K these days.

Last year, out of curiosity, I downloaded the 1 million sites in Alexa and started reading at random places. What struck me, was the amount of non-English sites (probably around half of the sites were in a language different from English) and the fact that many relatively unknown sites with not so outstanding content managed to get into the first 100K. Later I read on a blog with a ranking of 50K or something like that about the number of hits it was getting and it was under 10K uniques a month, which is pretty achievable, if you are persistent and if you have the budget for this. I thought a 100K blog must be getting 50K or more uniques a month but it seems that the multi-million uniques sites are in the Top 10K, or maybe in the Top 2K and the rest isn’t that competitive.

I haven’t tried getting the 100% ranking in Google. But getting this result is so fantastic. In order to achieve a good rank in Google even not 100% ranking in Google, it is important to create top notch quality content.

Achieving something like this is not impossible, but you need to invest some money in doing it. Having people create backlinks, write great content and use social media as much as possible is crucial and if you have these, you might be successful :)

Here i can learn more about Alexa ranking.sure it will help to the beginners..thanks for sharing a useful stuff..
That sounds really incredible, and I guess almost impossible, I wouldn’t believe it if I didn’t read it on your blog. That is really a big deal!

This e-book sound very interesting, especially that we all know the importance of having a good Alexa Ranking. Although the algorithm doesn’t rely only on traffic, it’s a good way to certify the value of a blog.

Hey Kiesha,
Congrats for putting these steps together in 10-week gameplan. I’m glad I have a copy and I can confirm what’s inside. One thing I like is the style of writing. It really encourages reading and each week’s tasks are clearly guided to get results.
The bonus week helps remove some ‘dust’ from many blogs. If bloggers really want to make money blogging, I can recommend grabbing a copy and rushing to week-10.
New and struggling bloggers really should get a copy and focus on the tasks that will help them accomplish their goals. The price is ridiculously not a barrier.
But hey! It’s one thing to buy a book and it’s another thing to do what’s in the book.

Hi Keisha,
interesting article & proposition. Sorry for the naiive question but when you say <100K ranking, do you mean Alexa rank? If so, that's really impressive. I've had my site for over a year now and though I generally think I'm doing quite well (at least vs my expectations) I'm nowhere near that figure yet.
Does your strategy hold true through all of the Google changes? Through all of the penguins and pandas? Also does it assume a niche blog or an authority blog? If the first answer is yes and the 2nd answer is it works for both, then more impressive but I guess you're advocating some really hard work in that case?
anyways, interesting food for thought…
take care & best wishes,

Alan

Hi Alan,
Yes, I’m talking about Alexa Rank. And yes, the challenges do call for hard work. The book offers guidance for people who just don’t know what to do. There are not blackhat tricks or strange linking activities. These are the same strategies I use for my blog regardless of the changes made to Google. Obviously, I can’t guarantee anything, but I do know that when these strategies are put into action (which is usually where people drop the ball), they do work no matter what type of blog you have.
I hope this helps.

OK, thanks Keisha & best of luck with the book,
it sounds very impressive – particularly if you can do all of that without any spinning, spam or black hats… ;-)

Hi!
It’s actually based on my findings during an actual case study, so yes, it’s true and very possible if you actually put the strategies into action.

Hello Keisha. Good on you to get a book out! I’m not sure, is it your first? This is awesome and I’m sure we will all benefit from your advanced knowledge. Did you perhaps use ‘Surviving the blog’ as a case study to test certain methods. If you did, very clever.

This is actually my third book, but only my second one about blogging. I sold the first one for a while and now use it as a subscriber incentive.
But yes, this book uses Surviving the Blog contest case study as a background for the challenges and strategies. I added a challenge for monetization since we didn’t address that during the contest.

Nice post Kiesha! I especially appreciated this post as I have just recently launched my new site UltimateDomainManager.com, four weeks ago to be exact and currently my site sits at 447k. So forgive me but I feel a little proud too as it looks I might be well on my way to reach that type of ranking within 10 weeks as you’ve mentioned above, although I know that the lower your ranking gets the slower it takes to lower down further. ;)
Looking forward to your book, how exciting is that! I am nearly ready with mine which of course you had contributed to yourself and I currently have a competition on giving away 10 copies for FREE with only a couple of small requirements helping me spread the word in order to qualify…
Speak soon Kiesha and take care!
