4 WordPress Plugins to Help You Make Money with Your Blog

Print Friendly

Making Money With WordPressA lot of folks start blogging because they want to make money. There are all sorts of streams of revenue that can come from blogging, and many new bloggers don’t even know about all of them. Ads, affiliate programs, paid posts, guest posts, reviews, book deals, and even folks hiring you for other gigs based on the expertise you display on your blog posts. These are just the beginning.

There are many tools that can help you make money with your blog, and some of these tools are WordPress plugins. They don’t help you make money directly, at least none that we know about, but they help to facilitate you to make some profits.

There are several WordPress plugins designed for helping you to make some scratch. The following are just four WordPress plugins for making money that you can try out with your own site.

1.) AdSense Made Easy

Google AdSense ads are one of the most common ways for bloggers to make money. While easy to use, beginning bloggers can easily get a little hung up trying to get these ad units onto their site, and this is just one way in which AdSense Made Easy can help.

This plugin lets you add AdSense units to any widgetized area of the theme. All you need is a Google AdSense account and this plug in. It lets you not only place the ads, but it also offers you all of the same functionality you get directly from the Google AdSense site. AdSense made easy makes making money simpler.

2.) All In One SEO Pack

If you are new to blogging, you probably have read a lot about search engine optimization, but you might be wondering what the big deal is with SEO. SEO helps your pages climb to the top of search results, which means more visitors, and with more visitors, it is just a matter of time before you find more people are clicking on your ads and doing other things that make you money.

The All In One SEO pack makes SEO easy. Without this plugin, SEO can be difficult and time consuming. With this plugin, you simply need to enter information and fill in the fields provided for you to start optimizing your blog.

3.) Google Analytics for WordPress

Stats can tell you a lot of things about you blog. It can show you what days of the week are the busiest, and which ones you should consider using as your day off. They can also show you what kind of content makes users flock to your site, and it can show which posts made people stay far away, or click off after a mere moment.

This plugin helps you with this. From your blog you can see all of the great information that Google Analytics has to offer… and more. By seeing the big picture, and accepting that your readers don’t like it when you post pictures of your Aunt Mildred’s birthday party. This in turn can help you direct your content to things that draw in more visitors and in turn, more money.

4.) eShop

Shopping online is a big business, and e-retail keeps growing and growing. You can have a piece of that pie with this plugin.

eShop lets you add a store to your WordPress blog. With this plugin, your visitors can fill a shopping cart with whatever you want to sell, and you can accept payments in a number of ways. Of course, you would need to have something to sell to make money with eShop, and this could include eBooks related to your niche and any services you can offer to potential clients via the web.

These are just a few plugins to get you started.  For more information about basic setup to get you started off right, check out this WordPress website checklist.

    David,

Nice post! I love google analytics on my WordPress blog but I prefer to copy and paste the code so I have one less plugin to slow my site down and complicate the code. I even created two videos on how to do it.

As for shopping carts, I prefer 1shoppingcart. Once again no plugin required and it’s only $34 per month.

All-in-ONe-SEO is a solid plugin too for SEO but I use the Thesis Theme so that plugin really isn’t necessary.

    Thanks for sharing!

    Hi David,
First off, this post is extremely thorough! I have been using a few of the wordpress plugins mentioned above As for me For your blog entries optimization, free plugin like All in One SEO Pack is really cool as the plugin lays down the basic SEO foundation for a WordPress website, however, I must say that every blogger is different and nothing works best for everyone.

I have been reading quite a few blogs posts recently who have said that the All In One SEO Pack plugin takes a lot of resources on your server to run and slows down your blog. I’m not sure if it is true or not as I abandoned SEO plugins a couple of years ago.

I have used all of the above except for eShop. The SEO pack works great and is really easy to use especially to beginners. The AdSense Made Easy is still a little difficult to understand and get started unless you are familiar with AdSense. For my wife however, with no online advertising background, it was rather hard for her to get it rolling.

Adsense Made Easy is awesome if you make money from Google. I remember back in 2005 and 2006 having to hard code Google ads into my WordPress templates. A plugin like Adsense Made Easy makes it ten times easier (and faster) to get your ads just right. Massive headache avoidance :)
