Blog Engage continues to be one of my favorite voting sites in the blogosphere. It’s a really great place to network with bloggers that you wouldn’t otherwise have had the opportunity to meet.
Not only does this site give bloggers a way to increase engagement on their own blogs by including a voting button, it also can be a great source of traffic if your posts get published.
So I thought it would be a great challenge to have each of these teams compete for votes.
Week 4 Challenge: Blog Engage Votes
Team with most Blog Engage Votes wins Immunity
We’re going to keep it simple this week.
Here’s what the teams have to do:
1. Produce a MAX of 10 posts by the end of the week. No points will be rewarded for posts this time, but obviously, the more posts they produce, the more opportunities for earning Blog Engage votes.
2. Get as many total Blog Engage votes (on up to 10 posts) as possible. I’m going to count raw votes, even from team members this week.
4 Tips for getting more Blog Engage Votes:
- Post a reminder to vote at the top or bottom of blog posts, and encourage readers to vote.
- Vote on other Blog Engage posts. The more you vote on other posts on BE, the more likely those people will pay you back with a vote.
- Comment directly to posts on BE.
- Send out tweets asking for BE votes.
- Contact your friends directly.
- Get creative!
Deadline Friday, Nov. 4 6:00pm EST.
Week 3 Results
Again, both of these teams are really kicking butt! I commend both teams for continuing to do an outstanding job.
Check out their Alexa stats for this week:
Crimsonsoapbox.com - 309,430
TheNextGoal.com - 269,026
Seriously, these are rankings that newbies everywhere would envy!
What the contestants had to say about this challenge
Well, team 2 did it again. Congratulations to the froggie that never sleeps, and all his minions. We seemed to be chasing a mirage we couldn’t catch.
We had some fun as we have had throughout, although we’re getting a little thin on the ground. And this week I’ve been uplifted by a number of fascinating authors who’ve agreed to be interviewed. Jace Daniel Albao’s interview was particularly inspiring. I hope others found it so as well. - Anthony Smits
I don’t know if there is a term for the malady that affects a team who loses three straight challenges. In baseball, three strikes is an OUT. In bowling, three consecutive strikes is a TURKEY. In blogging, I guess three strikes means a sniper saw our match and shot us in the foxhole. Can you guess that this is my description of the low point?
The high point, as ever was the way Clan Massiv went after this challenge. I had fun with my Halloween and Twevelation posts, Anthony rocked hard with some great interviews and Ivin doubled our follower base. - Mitch Allen
So how did the teams add up this week?
Results:
Team 1 – 553 Points
Team 2 – 1548 Points
Congratulations Team 2 on Winning this week’s challenge!
Team that had to vote off a member:
Team 1: CrimsonSoapBox.com
With 2 out of 3 votes – we have to say goodbye to:

Blog Engage is a fantastic site. I’m utilizing this site as part of my strategy and it’s really good for SEO. The links hold value and you can really see an increase in your SERP and site traffic.

Crimson Crew – May I politely request some kind of recent posts widget so it’s easier to see at a glance what gems you’ve been publishing for our reading pleasure?
Good luck all – see you at BE!

Hi Jym,
We had LinkWithin but removed it because it refused to delete a link from a deleted post.
However, your wish is our command. :)

No problem Mitch – I had the same problem with LinkWithin some time ago…
I had in mind something in the side bar to help me navigate the soapbox – just an idea!
Catch you soon mate and thanks for the comment on my string theory :)

Glad to hear you guys say this! I’ve always loved LinkWithin, but we had the same problem – even deleting the plug in and reinstalling it did not do the trick.

Not only that but it always insisted on grabbing banners or signatures or other “not the image I wanted” pics to display…
So long, LinkWithin

Heh-heh. Jym, you must not be familiar with “Genie-speak”. The sidebar was updated five minutes after I read your comment. :)
@Holly, the support staff never even replied to our email requesting deletion.
As my momma always said, “watch your own toys!”
If I had listened, LinkWithin wouldn’t have run off with our “Hello World” link.
Cheers,
Mitch

To my team, you guys are awesome and VERY talented professionals and I wish you all the best.
Team 2, the glory won’t last forever, THAT would be interesting to see how that plays out.
All in all a great experience and thanks for Keisha for making me part of this. I’ll be watching! Lol!
Thanks again!

Hey Ivin,
Tip of the hat to you! You are very good at what you do. Took Anthony and me a while to understand the magic beans you left behind, but the giants on Team 2 should be very, very afraid.
Cheers,

I think Blog Engage is a fantastic website, it’s fantastic how you can connect with all the bloggers that you wouldn’t have the chance to meet if it wasn’t for BE. Also, I think this challenge is really cool, very good for bringing attention. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Amit, thanks so much for the kind words about blog engage. It means a lot when I see other bloggers talking positive about what we have created over the past 4 years. We continue to get new members everyday and the communtiy just continues to grow. I cannot be happier and thankful for everything we have been given,.

Brankica, see

Despite the great fun I’ve had “sparring” and trading a little creative “smack talk” with Team 1 (see http://www.creativecopychallenge.com/writing-prompts-creative-copy-challenge-185/ and http://www.creativecopychallenge.com/writing-prompts-creative-copy-challenge-188/ ), I feel a little sting each time one of the contenders is eliminated.
Granted, it’s a little smaller than the one I’d be feeling if it were Neeraj, Ntathu, Brandon, Larry, or me – but I like all the members of Team1, too, and hate to seem them go. Darned glad to see us stay, though! We are having a blast with this, over on TheNextGoal (which we also affectionately call the “Frog Blog” and have to constantly shoo Team1 away, because they keep bringing the blender and asking if we want them to turn it into “Frog Nog”).

Hi Brankica!!
Currently Team 1 consists of Anthony and Mitch, while Team 2 still has all of its original members: Brandon, Holly, Larry, Ntathu, and Neeraj. I’ll make sure I point that out in the next update. I hope you’ve been enjoying the contest!
I thought they might be down to two members or something. Wow this is going to be cool :) I love the contest!

Its really great to see what these two teams have achieved so far in such a little time. So to show you that when there is a coordinate effort and the will, there is a way. I agree, those Alexa rankings wold definitely put a lot of people envy, even those that have been a while in the sphere. Keep it up you guys…

You’re so right DiTesco. All this success in just 3 weeks is really impressing. What could possibly come next? I’m very excited…
Ivin, thanks for all the lessons – setting up a blog in 14 days? Hell naw! Getting 400 Tweeps in a week? No way! The “inside” scoop on BlogEngage? Heh-heh (shhhh!) As #15 on BE, you’ll be sorely missed. It’s just too bad we couldn’t plink the toad from its lofty perch.
Thanks, Ntathu! We’ll “pop” Froggie yet! As always, you and Team Two are worthy adversaries.
Cheers,
Mitch
