Blog Engage Challenge, Plus Week 3 Results

Blog Engage continues to be one of my favorite voting sites in the blogosphere.  It’s a really great place to network with bloggers that you wouldn’t otherwise have had the opportunity to meet.

Not only does this site give bloggers a way to increase engagement on their own blogs by including a voting button, it also can be a great source of traffic if your posts get published.

So I thought it would be a great challenge to have each of these teams compete for votes.

Week 4 Challenge:  Blog Engage Votes

Team with most Blog Engage Votes wins Immunity

We’re going to keep it simple this week.

Here’s what the teams have to do:

1. Produce a MAX of 10 posts by the end of the week.  No points will be rewarded for posts this time, but obviously, the more posts they produce, the more opportunities for earning Blog Engage votes.

2. Get as many total Blog Engage votes (on up to 10 posts) as possible.  I’m going to count raw votes, even from team members this week.

4 Tips for getting more Blog Engage Votes:

  1. Post a reminder to vote at the top or bottom of blog posts, and encourage readers to vote.
  2. Vote on other Blog Engage posts.  The more you vote on other posts on BE, the more likely those people will pay you back with a vote.
  3. Comment directly to posts on BE.
  4. Send out tweets asking for BE votes.
  5. Contact your friends directly.
  6. Get creative!

Deadline Friday, Nov. 4  6:00pm EST.

Week 3 Results

Again, both of these teams are really kicking butt!  I commend both teams for continuing to do an outstanding job.

Check out their Alexa stats for this week:

Crimsonsoapbox.com - 309,430
TheNextGoal.com - 269,026

Seriously, these are rankings that newbies everywhere would envy!

What the contestants had to say about this challenge

Well, team 2 did it again. Congratulations to the froggie that never sleeps, and all his minions.  We seemed to be chasing a mirage we couldn’t catch.
We had some fun as we have had throughout, although we’re getting a little thin on the ground.  And this week I’ve been uplifted by a number of fascinating authors who’ve agreed to be interviewed.  Jace Daniel Albao’s interview was particularly inspiring.  I hope others found it so as well.  - Anthony Smits

I don’t know if there is a term for the malady that affects a team who loses three straight challenges. In baseball, three strikes is an OUT. In bowling, three consecutive strikes is a TURKEY. In blogging, I guess three strikes means a sniper saw our match and shot us in the foxhole. Can you guess that this is my description of the low point?

The high point, as ever was the way Clan Massiv went after this challenge. I had fun with my Halloween and Twevelation posts, Anthony rocked hard with some great interviews and Ivin doubled our follower base. - Mitch Allen

So how did the teams add up this week?

Results:

Team 1 – 553 Points

Team 2 – 1548 Points

Congratulations Team 2 on Winning this week’s challenge!

Team that had to vote off a member:

Team 1:  CrimsonSoapBox.com

With 2 out of 3 votes – we have to say goodbye to:

I agree, those Alexa rankings wold definitely put a lot of people envy, even those that have been a while in the sphere. Keep it up you guys…

  10. Ivin, thanks for all the lessons – setting up a blog in 14 days? Hell naw! Getting 400 Tweeps in a week? No way! The “inside” scoop on BlogEngage? Heh-heh (shhhh!) As #15 on BE, you’ll be sorely missed. It’s just too bad we couldn’t plink the toad from its lofty perch.

Thanks, Ntathu! We’ll “pop” Froggie yet! As always, you and Team Two are worthy adversaries.

    Cheers,

    Mitch
