4 New Twitter Apps you must Have

Guest post by Leo Widrich

TWITTER APPSHere are 4 Twitter tools which make my life a great deal easier and less complicated. Not only is their design super slick, but most importantly the simplicity and usefulness of these 4 new kids on the block is well worth sharing I thought.

Buffer – Stop annoying your followers

Have you ever been on a roll of reading many great blogposts on your favourite blogs or new ones you just stumbled across? It happens to me all the time.

However I am always quite reluctant to put my tweets on a blast, overwhelming my followers with all these great findings.

This is where Buffer comes in. All I do is throw a few tweets into my Buffer and the app in return spreads them out for me over the day. This allows for adding lots of tweets at one point, yet without flooding my followers with all these updates.

Why is it a must have?

The truly best bit of using Buffer is that you can add tweets to your Buffer from any page you are on by using one of the browser extensions (Chrome, Firefox, Safari). Just give it one click on the Buffer icon and add it to your queue of tweets.

Twoolr – Amazing analytics for your Twitter account

So, I have made my way to Twitter and was all over the place, trying to connect with lots of people and engaging with new followers. But did it really matter? What was the impact I am making?

After starting to use Twoolr, I found answers to these questions. The app gives you detailed statistics about everything happening around your Twitter account. It tells you about a variety of very interesting things such as your mentions, retweets, the words you are using or the development of your follower count.

Why is it a must have?

For all the spontaneity I love when being on Twitter there needs to be a time to pause and take a look whether I should alter my direction to increase my impact. Twoolr makes it super simple to give me ALL relevant stats I need to establish. On top of all it comes with a free Premium Plan trial, which is a great incentive.

ManageFlitter – Manage your followership to see clear again

After being on Twitter for a while I have been following a large range of different people. It turns out some of them are less valuable than others. For a long time I unfollowed those which weren’t adding value manually – not anymore.

With ManageFlitter you can unfollow those which don’t follow you back, are loud mouths and clutter your timeline or simply stopped using Twitter. The app tells you all that in a very comprehensive manner with a super slick interface.

Why is it a must have?

Using ManageFlitter couldn’t be easier for you. There is no nasty signup or registration process. You simply go there, connect with Twitter, unfollow and organize your followership the way you want it and off you go.

Twileshare – Super simple file sharing over Twitter

I have tested several filesharing tools for Twitter in recent weeks and my decision is firm that Twileshare makes life a lot easier than others I tested.

The way it works is super simple. You upload files and share them with your followers with one tweet. The files are safely hosted on Twileshare’s servers and you get a generous storage space of 1GB to start out with.

It is currently still in Beta, but applying for an invite is well worth doing

Why is it a must have?

The key reason why I recommend this service is that it supports a wide variety of different file formats allowing you to share PNG, GIF, JPG, DOC or PDF Files. On top of that it also gives you stats as how many times your uploaded files have been viewed.

Give it a go here.

I am always on the lookout for cool new Apps which make our lives easier. Which Apps are you using to breathe a little easier on Twitter? What do you think about the ones I mentioned? Let me know below.

  1. I only use one application to update my feeds whenever I made a blog update. But I would like to try bufffer since it is interesting application that could prevent me to annoy my followers with flooding of tweets. Maybe I should try it soon. Thanks for the insights. And perhaps I should check out the other twitter applications, which you have suggested.

Oh, great to hear you have heard about Buffer already, exactly. I like buffer system but most bloggers tweet to get traffic and if they don’t share the tweets then I think many will stop tweeting to . Oh wow, never heard about tweepz, I will definitely give it a go right away, thanks for sharing.

  3. Liz McFarland says:

These are great! Havent heard of them, but with social media being an important tool for business these days it is good to be able to stay on top of it conveniently.

Nice tools you gave there. I only use twitterfeed right now, and it seems to do wonders to my traffic. Well, since i only have around 100 followers i wouldn’t yet call it a wonder, but in time it should bring a lot more as i increase my network.
I recommend you try it, i think you’ll like it.

I think Twoolr and ManagFiltre are a must have but the others aren’t bad either. I never heard about Twileshare and it seems to be an useful app, for sure I’ll give it a try.

    • Leo Widrich says:

      Hi Carla,

Yep, definitely give Twoolr and MAnageFlitter a spin, they help you a lot to manage your time better I think.

Twileshare is really new, you are right, yet also helps a lot if you have certain files you frequently want to share with your followers.

      Thanks for your comment :)

Nice! This post really encouraging. I have not been using twitter much -not really much inclined to social networking websites. But wow! Through this post, I was encouraged to use twitter frequently and explore it more plus one application caught me, it’s twileshare. Twileshare will be really hepful for me, especially i usually send PDF files to my friends who use twitter most of the time. It’s time for me to reconnect! Thanks for this encouraging post.

      Hi Jens,

Really good to see you here. Yep Twoolr is a very useful tool to know about what is going on with your Twitter account.

Awesome you are enjoying Buffer so much, this is so good to hear! :)

Thanks for stopping by Jens :)

  17. Anna says:

    Hi, Leo,
Definitely Twoolr is a great tool. It reminds me a bit of Google analytics. Strange that nobody has thought about developing such tool before. I guess we can need it for finding out why we are behind others and have little success with Twitter.

    • Leo Widrich says:

Hi Anna, many thanks for your comment.

Yes indeed, Twoolr is just like Google Analytics for Twitter. That’s a brilliant explanation I think.

Glad you find it useful, be sure to give it a spin and see how you can be more successful, I am sure it helps.

Thanks for stopping by again :).

  18. Alex says:

Twoolr, seems a really great app, especially because I love to see statistics about anything and then I like to crunch those numbers and see how I can improve on them.

But also, I have seen that buffer is getting a lot of attention and spreading your tweets over a period of time, in order not to annoy your followers is great, but also if you have more then 1000 followers giving only one tweet it will usually not be seen by your followers.

Well, I haven’t used it yet because I don’t tweet that much and it may be a great app (well, that many people can’t be wrong, right?)

Hi Alex, many thanks for your comment.

Yep, Twoolr is an amazing Twitter App which on top of everything does so much for free. Be sure to give it a spin.

Oh, great to hear you have heard about Buffer already, exactly. Just like you said you can stop annoying your followers and still tweet more often. I hope you give it a go, getting a frequency on your Twitter account is just nice. :)

Thanks for stopping by Alex, much appreciated! :)

  19. Bani says:

another great, but paid, tool is tweetadder… a great tool that helps you automate all the tasks on twitter… tweeting, follow based on a keyword, mass unfollow and others… the only down side is that it’s about 60$ for an account…
Bani recently posted..Groom Wedding SpeechMy Profile

    • Leo Widrich says:

      Hi Bani,

Many thanks for checking in and leaving your thoughts. Indeed I have heard about Tweetadder.

You are absolutely right, not everyone has 60$ at hand to invest for such a tool.

I hope some of the above mentioned might we worth checking out for you. :)

  20. Zahnarzt says:

nice list of tools… i think manageflitter is the best… i tried many mass unfollow tools, but this one is the only one that’s free and works :)

I’d like to add another free online tool, pretty useful. it’s tweepz, where you can search for people, by their bio, filter by language, country, etc… very nice tool
    Zahnarzt recently posted..Zahnarzt MuenchenMy Profile

    • Leo Widrich says:

      Hi Zahnarzt,

Many thanks for stopping by and leaving your thoughts here.

Yes, I agree Manageflitter is definitely a great tool to get a clean and nice Twitter account back that is not packed with unwanted followers.

Oh wow, never heard about tweepz, I will definitely give it a go right away, thanks for sharing.

  21. LoveChic says:

I think i will need Twoolr as I am fresher in Twitter(I think so) and I need to analyze all my account. But in fact it is awesome that ther are some tools which really help to squeeze through lots of information in the social networks.

    • Leo Widrich says:

Hi LoveChic, totally give Twoolr a go. It will help you a lot to know everything about how your twitter account is developing.

Yeah, the noise is getting pretty heavy, just like you say it is totally needed to cut through until you get to the good stuff :).

Many thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.

  22. Atulperx says:

I like buffer system but most bloggers tweet to get traffic and if they don’t share the tweets then I think many will stop tweeting to . Yes it is too much annoying to update followers with too many links but if you have good fan following than try good twitter management tool and auto schedule your tweets . like post every tweet after 30 minutes to 1 hours . I am using this method most of the time and followers are also fine .

    • Leo Widrich says:

      Hi Atulperx,

Many thanks for your comment, indeed if we flood our followers with too many tweets, we will soon end up losing many of them.

Perfect you already have a firm strategy on how to solve this, hope you give Buffer a go, as it can definitely help with it :).

  23. Andreas says:

Twitter analytic tools are a great way to find out whats happening with your twitter account behind the scenes, how it does in comparison with other twitter users in your niche and how you can improve your tweets for more response.

    • Leo Widrich says:

Hi Andreas, many thanks for stopping by.

Indeed as Twitter is growing at such a fast pace it is really important to keep track of everything going on at your own account, I totally agree.

Hope Twoolr helps you with that. :)
