A Brief Twitter Marketing Strategy

Print Friendly

Guest post by Richard Chidike

Going by the increasing popularity of social media marketing, it is only wise to say that twitter marketing plan should be included in any viable online marketing plan.

This is because twitter is reputed to be the first social networking site that went from mere 1 million users to over 13 million users in just one month. Your online business or even offline business will gain very valuable exposure if you are ready to properly utilize the immense marketing opportunities and potential that twitter and other top ranking social networking sites provide.

Your business will never grow if it is only you and your wife who know about it. When you have the opportunity to showcasing your business to over 20 million people; wouldn’t want you grab such opportunity with two wide arms? This is the exact type of business exposure that twitter marketing has for any savvy internet marketer.

The first thing you should do is to create your twitter account but make sure that your profile contains very useful tips about your business. You are even advised to make use of your targeted keywords in describing your business in your profile page. Doing this would ensure that your profile gets to the top of the search engines result pages when such keywords are used directly, depending on the level of competition in that niche.

However you must be at advised that you shouldn’t kick-start your twitter marketing the very first day you sign up because there are lots of ground-clearing activities you still need to do. Hang around in the twitter pages and see what others are saying, join the conversation and try to make friends.

The best way to boost your chances of meeting those that are interested in your niche is to use your keywords to do a simple search, this will lead you to those users that are interested in your niche.

When you find those who are enjoying large followership in your niche, you simply have to bear in mind that there are certain things they are doing right. Follow those people with established twitter accounts and pay attention to what makes them tick. Join the conversation.

Start posting interesting and valuable tweets. Don’t forget to alert your followers of any new blogs post or updates. Include links to some online resources that your twitter followers may find interesting. You can even recommend your own site also, if your content falls naturally into what is being discussed.

There are many ways to use twitter for marketing purposes? What else could we add here?

Thanks for the tips. Twitter is naturally something which a lot of people are using but it doesn’t seem to be something that I can fit into the site I need to promote. Could be that I’m just using that as an excuse for being lazy and not wanting to put in the work. My August 1st resolution is to use Twitter more!
