Get More Retweets and Go Viral – The InfoPreneur Forum

As I’ve said before, I’m not that big on forums, however, I thought it would be wise of me to get a little more active in this area and start taking advantage of the great resources that can be found there.

I had a sense that I was missing out on something big, and I was right. As I’ve been slowly getting more acquainted with the latest forum I’ve joined, I feel like kicking myself for waiting so long to dive into the forum pool.

What I’ve learned so far -

I’ve come to understand that, like everywhere else, most forums don’t allow blatant advertising of your own blog – you can post a link in your signature, but no, “Hey check out my blog, will ya!” is allowed.

Forums are built for networking, collaborating with other bloggers and sharing knowledge.

What I’ve discovered -

I recently joined TheInfoPreneur Forum, and I was surprised to find a friendly community of bloggers who go out of their way to help others. It’s a secret alliance of bloggers who retweet each other’s posts, visit each other’s blog’s – I’ve even found guest posters via this forum.

My Favorite Thread – “Retweet This”

Every day, members check in to post links to posts they’d like retweeted, but they don’t just link drop and leave – they actually take the time to retweet everyone else’s tweets. So it’s full of real people – no spam-scammers.

Your post could get its viral start right there in the forum.  It’s amazing.

In addition to this great thread, there’s also the “Daily Stumble,” “Daily Dig,” and even “Daily Techno” – this forum is really about helping it’s members increase exposure to their blogs.

So, if you haven’t already joined this great forum, I encourage you to stop by and register.

Just a warning, though, since the spam registrant rate is high, Brandon suggests that you send him an email via the Contact form on the site – just to let him know that you’re a real human, so he can make an informed decision about your requested membership.

So have you discovered any other forums like this one that is dedicated to building community?

Exactly, I have recently joined a sports forum. Yes, I know macho men talking about forums, but they actually help each other also. They have even helped me to get my information out on their twitter and facebook accounts. Nice people.

Adding “please retweet” to your next tweet makes it 5x more likely to be retweeted! (Just remember to use this tip sparingly since it can become a bit annoying).

Kiesha as you know, I’m a huge fan of Lisa Irby so I didn’t hesitate to join her Website Babble forum http://websitebabble.com

Since they have mostly webmasters there I get a chance to find out more of what goes on behind the scenes than I did at other blog forums I joined.

Thanks for telling me about this forum, maybe I’ll give it a try.

      Hi Ileane,
Yeah, I like Lisa’s Forum – thanks for sharing that. But you should definitely join this forum, too. I think you’ll enjoy it. I’m sure you’ll be the life of the party! :)

  4. I haven’t had much time to visit TheInfopreneur since James stopped being involved much. I haven’t been over to the forums, it sounds like an excellent networking opportunity, I am just too spread thin on time to participate in two way networking right now in the blogosphere.

      Hi Justin,
I totally understand the feeling of being spread “too thin” – but honestly, if you can spare ten minutes, just to log in and then tweet or schedule other people’s tweets – it would be well worth it.

Haven’t heard of that forum before – I’ll have to check it out. We could all do with more exposure!

I haven’t been in there for a long time so need to check back and start getting active. At the time I didn’t know how to use Twitter (yeah, yeah, I know that’s hilarious) and wasn’t getting any comments, but James would show up every day and comment if I put my link in there.

For those who have the time, there are some active blogging forums on Linked In where people support each other in this way. I just didn’t have the time to visit all the blogs so haven’t done anything over there.

      Hi Jean,
Yes, do come back! Don’t feel bad, there are still sites that I’m clueless about. And a year and a half ago, I was in the same boat. I’ll have to check out what LinkedIn has to offer.

  13. Hi Kiesha Easley,

    Thanks for the info.

I never heard of The InfoPreneur Forum.

Looks good. Is it only for blogs, or is it also for Internet Marketing in general?

You don’t have to have a blog, you could be a website owner. Just be careful not to spam the forum, or you could get your membership banned.
