I’ve decided to do it again! I’m holding the Simplest Guest Post Contest in June and I want you to be a part of it.
The last contest was a great success. We had several guest posts to make it to the front page of Social Media today, Junta42 and get mentioned on other websites. So, as you can see, your guest post has the potential to gain lots of exposure.
And as promised, I’m still going to keep it simple – same rules from last time: The top 5 guest posters with the most Retweets win! But this time, the 1st Place Prize winner will take home two prizes!

To Enter
Write and submit an original guest post any time between now and June 30, 2010. The guest post that receives the most re-tweets wins. It’s that simple. I won’t be counting comments (unless there’s a tie), you don’t have to announce this contest on your blog (You can, of course, if you want to let your readers know to come and vote for you), you don’t have to jump through any other hoops.
Just write the post and submit it with the following:
- a photo of yourself
- a brief 2-3 sentence bio that may include a link to your site and Twitter (optional).
Note: You can submit more than one guest post and I’ll count the one with the most retweets. (Scores will not be combined.) However, I must stress that each guest post MUST BE ORIGINAL. If I discover that the post has been submitted on another site previously or after your post has been published, your entry to the contest will be canceled.
I’ll announce the winners approximately a week from the date that the contest is closed to give the last posters a chance to promote.
Any questions? Feel free to add them to the comments section or shoot me an email.

Great idea for a contest!

I’ve never done guest posting before but I might try. Not really after the prizes. OK, I’m lying. Still, a post appearing here will be an honour. There’s enough time to write a post (or 2) worthy for your followers.
Have a good one.

Great contest, it temps me to think of something dynamic and try a guest post. I’ve been spending my time getting guest bloggers for my site.
How’d you get such great prizes?

Hi there!
I’d love to see you enter this contest.
I was able to get such great sponsors by being a part of each of these blog’s communities. I was a sponsor when one had his blog contest, I got in contact with another one by guest posting on his site and yet another by being a regular commentator. I retweet their posts and really try to be helpful and also be an active member on these sites. When I asked each one if they would be interested in sponsoring these contests, they were very willing.
You should enter – it’ll get some great exposure to your site.
Very interesting contest, Good luck to all participants

Hi Hesham,
Cash is awesome, but I think in terms of value. I think the highest value should be the first prize, but I realize others will think differently.
What I’m really considering is allowing the first prize winner an opportunity to choose which prize he or she would like. Maybe I’ll poll the participants and see how they’d like to handle it.
Thanks for bringing this to the forefront of my mind.
Excellent, I think allowing the first winner to choose is the best option, this will do it!
I am just thinking sometimes that the value and/or price of the prize is not always what makes someone happy, it’s actually how much a person need it, and probably you know that some people would love to have an e-book or a consultant service by experienced person, but there is always a person who actually need the cash to be able to pay some non blogging related stuff!
You have done a great job Kiesha, and what I like of you that you always support the community!

Hi Arafat,
I’m sorry to hear you won’t be joining the contest, but I’m also eagerly awaiting some great posts. Stay tuned!
I have actually been fortunate enough to submit a post here way back and I think I got a little bit of comments and mileage from it. Not too sure about joining though since I don’t have a lot of twitter followers yet…but it might be a good time to build up one.

Hi Michelle!
I encourage you to enter anyway – there are over 3000 subscribers for this blog, if your post is compelling enough, they just might retweet it for you. A good call to action at the end of your post might do the trick.
You never know what might happen :)
Hey Kiesha,
awesome competition. Question…do you allow video posts ? Just curious.
Thanks,
Brandon

Hi Brandon,
That’s a good question – I thought about it, but the goal is to keep this contest simple. So that means written content only. I’m glad you asked though, it has given me something to ponder.
