The alexa redirect didn’t work ever. It was only a myth for those who were desperate to improve their ranking. The tool bar does work to some extend.

Since I have taken over the SEO duties on our site, the traffic has gone up. Most of the traffic is now coming from the search engines.

I know Alexa isn’t everything but I love watching the numbers go down. Yours is now under 75,000. I’ll be excited when ours is less than 200,000. Keep up the great work!

Although Alexa rating isn’t everything, it is satisfying to see that number drop. I’ve read up on improving Alexa rating a bit, and one common suggestion I got was to place the Alexa Widget somewhere on your blog. Out of curiosity I did that on two blogs that I run, and sure enough, it seemed to help a lot with the rating.

Good post, and on an unrelated note, I love the design of your blog. Something a bit different than that of a typical WordPress blog.

Kiesha, thanks for such great tips! It’s good to know that I’m on the right track. I’ve actually set goals to the number of blog comments I would leave per day and the number of guest post I would submit per week.

This gives me some direction and something to shoot for which in turn will allow me to gain a higher Alexa ranking.
