Ms. Ileane Speaks wrote this great informative guest post highlighting a great Google Chrome plug-in. I hope you will take a moment to watch the video as she briefly shows you how Zemanta can save you time and help you blog more efficiently.

Zemanta Extension for Google Chrome

Guest post by Ms. Ileane Speaks

Google Chrome is one of the hottest new offerings from Google. Because of its lightening fast speed and extensive library of Google Chrome plugins (also called extensions) many users are making Chrome their browser of choice.

I decided to send out a Tweet to see what some of my followers favorite extensions are. One that stood out above the others came from fellow Blog Engage member Hairunizam. He recommended that I try the Zemanta extension. A funny story is that I remember the first time I saw “Related articles from Zemanta” on someone’s blog I was thinking “who in the world is Zemanta, is that an alias or something?” Don’t laugh, because you might have been thinking the same thing.

“Zemanta is a revolutionary new platform for accelerating on-line content production for any web user” (taken from the Zemanta About page).

In other words, it’s a really cool way to add content to a blog post without leaving your blog editor.

Take a look at this screencast tutorial I created called Tutorial for Zemanta Chrome Extension – Ms. Ileane Speaks Episode #019

Zemanta works with almost every browser and blogging platform so you don’t need to download the plugin. I find that Zemanta is also an excellent too to use for discovering new blog articles. Get all the answers to your answers questions here on the FAQ page.
So, what about you, do you have a favorite Google Chrome extension? Please share it in the comments.

Great post. I have been looking for this extension for a while. I found it a while back but didnt save it and couldnt remember the name. Now I have it. Thanks!

I normally use Office word to write the content and then copy the text into Live Writer to add images and to format it. I need to check out this extension and see if I can make it work with live writer or add another step to my blog writing.

  2. Very helpful tutorial! I use both Google Chrome and Fox, but I find I can edit my blog layout with no problems when I use Fox. I use them both, but I usually use Fox.

I have been using Zemanta for a short time and I like it. I would see Zemanta on other blogs, but I was thinking like you, until one day I clicked on it and the rest is history.

The only problem that I am having is when I add related posts I always get the articles in the box they, never pop up with just a bullet like you show in your video. I don’t know how to remove that. Can you help me on that?

    Thanks,
    Evelyn

Really good tutorial as always, Ileane and it’s good to see you guest posting as well. Thanks to Kiesha for having you on here and sharing.

I’ve been using Chrome much more over the past many months now, because of Firefox’s instability. I just added Zemanta after seeing your video and agree, it is real handy.

  8. Great Podcast. I’ve only been using Firefox until I recently get a second monitor. I’ve been opening Chrome to use in the second monitor rather than a second FF window. I’m going to write my next post using Chrome so I can give Zemanta a try. Good post Ileane.

  9. Thank you for that podcast Ileane! I have been using Zemanta about a week now and I like it. I use the chrome extension for my blogger blogs and the Firefox extension for my self-hosted Wordpress blogs. I think that as long as you keep your related articles and links tightly themed to your topic you should do ok with it.

  11. I’ve always been comfortable using firefox and various kinds of its plugins. I also started using Google Chrome lately but only for browsing and I haven’t tried installing a single plugin to it. If ever, this has opened my eyes to installing plugins at Chrome. I’d like to see how this Zemanta works in accelerating content production.

Wow. Thanks for sharing this. I’m realizing that I’m underestimating the power of plug-ins and apps lately. That seems to be a huge market.

I’ve always wondered how people got to put related posts together. I thought it had something to do with their template, but it was really just a plug-in.

    Cool.

  13. I have been meaning to try LiveWriter and just haven’t gotten around to it, this looks like a good extension as well. My FireFox is already bogged down with so many extensions it is completely unstable.
