One of the most inspiring people in my life was my grandfather who, for his time, was quite a successful entrepreneur against very tough odds. I had the chance to write about him and the lessons I learned from him over at Ben Lang’s blog and wanted to pass the link on to my readers here. Don’t forget that most good bloggers have a pioneering, entrepreneurial spirit which explains all the talk of “bootstrapping!”
Entrepreneurial Lessons from a Poor Milkman

Hi Brandon:
Thanks for sharing. Though lifestyles are changed values are different and knowledge is non existing in today’s culture, but still, there are genius people around and that makes a difference.
Now once we have realized, what is going on, we can change it to the better. Let’s learn from Brandon and start out mission, for ourselves and our children. As Brandon said in the comments section, he will like his children to be educated.
Brandon I am glad you wrote this blog post for so many to read and learn from it.
Have an awesome Sunday

Your grandfather was a very special man, and his eighth grade education served him well. Remember, Shakespeare only had an eighth grade education.
And, with 70% of the kids in the US now going on to college, and with the lowering of standards throughout the country for the bachelors degree, employers are not valuing the degree much anymore.
So, who is the smart one now?
Your grandfather who started a successful business, or the college graduate with $17,000 in student loans, no job, and the skills learned at college:
-how to read football statistics
-the names of a few foreign beers.

Haha, good point Beth, though I’d still push my kids to get all the education they can, I’d also push them to get the education most appropriate for how they’re shaped for life.
