There’s a sweet little race going on between two cool resources for adding interactivity to your blog. It’s Meebo versus Wibiya, and both offer some cool ways to involve your readers in both promoting your site, and participating in discussion on your site.
Meebo

Mashable uses Meebo, and I am currently testing it on my personal site to see if it makes a noticeable difference in traffic or interaction. The coolest feature is the ability to grab an image or link from the page and drag it, which opens up some nice sharing options in a lightbox format so that people can promote the link on their favorite network or by email.
Wibiya

I’m testing Wibiya out here at We Blog Better, and have yet to fully explore all of its features, but read a nice review of Wibiya at ReadWriteWeb that gives some good details.
Both bars offer easy sharing and subscription options and both offer plugins and installation instructions for a variety of blogging platforms. Also, both load last after everything else on the page is loaded, which is a nice way to make sure they don’t compromise your page load time for your content’s sake.
Has anybody else tried either? Or perhaps something else I’m unaware of? If not, give one or both a shot – experiment a bit!

Excellent idea to add a commercial advantage to your website by using Meebo or Wibiya, and I’m planning to give it a try. I visited several sites that sell textbooks online and have implemented these tools, and I also checked with the wayback machine and google analytics and I noticed a 15-32% increase in traffic after meebo or wibiya.
i had a lot to learn after i start to build my on blog. i want to be professional and easy to use. i don’t want that the visitor to get lost and don’t understand anything from it. and the Business Security Software is not yet build.
I haven’t tried either of these, but would like to give them a go.
I use a .NET ASPX CMS, phew lots of letters, but it’s just a Windows based .NET Content Management System that has a blog module included. It is called, Dotnetnuke.
Problem is that not many third-party blogging tools interact with .NET. Most are written in PHP and are aimed at PHP blogging software or CMS.
Butm, hey, willing to check it out to see if we can make it work.

I’d root for WordPress here, but I assume you’re settled in. These do work on multiple platforms, but not sure about language compatibility.
I know what you mean, Brandon. WordPress is it for me too, and has been for years. Once you get “settled in” it seems like a lot of work to change! WordPress isn’t the Holy Grail, but it’s close ;)

In my opinion wibiya is a fantastic tool, with its easy to interact facebook and twitter interaction. So i am wondering why more bloggers do not use it. any ideas?

I think that some feel it crowds things, and it would mess up a minimalist design. Others may simply have the same tools integrated some other way. Others are just blogging like it’s 1999!
Hi Brandon :) Came by from Blogengage feels weird voting and not reading so I wanted to come by and glad I did.
I used that Wibiya because they sent me an invite from Israel when it first came out I had it on for a minute but for some reason didn’t like it to much :) I do like the way that meebo looks and will check it out thanks

No problem, John, and thanks for stopping by!
I’m using Wibiya right now on my blog. I like it quite a bit especially its integration with Twitter and Facebook, and also the chat feature. My hope is that they will find some enhancements that are more useful to sticky up ones site besides games. For example being able to create a custom news feed for your visitors to look at would be nice.

That would be nice, and certainly more useful, yes. Thanks for weighing in!
I didn’t try Meebo, but I am using Wibiya on one of my blogs, I was thinking about this yesterday, for some reason non of my visitors interacted on the blog using it for the last 2 months! and this is so weird as I think it’s a very good add to any blog or website, I really don’t have an explanation for this.

Thanks for the info, Hesham, it’s good feedback for others who want to give it a try.
Is this a bar visible to only you the user or the reader?

It should be visible to all readers, encouraging them to use the buttons on the bar for sharing and interaction.
I have already put many toolbar on my blog, so I can not use more toolbar on my blog. Well it seems that both are some good blog network.

I’ve heard of Meebo but not Wibiya. Never tried either, although both offering interesting possibilities for spicing up dialog/interaction.
