The best tip I can give to folks is to buy a domain name for 3 years (Google prefers this), and then commit to it for a couple of years. Just do a tiny little bit each day. I've got to say "Right on, Brother!" I was reading a book this morning, and came upon this phrase: "Caregiving is not a sprint, it's a marathon." The whole gist of that is its for the long-haul, so a caregiver needs to pace herself, take breaks, have reasonable expectations, or else she'll burn out long before the end. That's great for being a caregiver, which I am for my parents, but it also applies to dieting. Last year I was doing very well and managed to drop about ten pounds. Last month I got the news from my doctor that I am now considered prediabetic. I went into a panic, decided I had to cut back drastically on my calories so I could lose at twice or thrice the speed. Whoa! What I did was sabotage the whole thing. I have actually gained weight from the crazy spin I went into, starting the day out great but starving, then eating like a maniac by bedtime.
